Ruso sobre Hielo!

Last night we went to see the Russian Circus on Ice and let me tell you it was worth the price. We had a wonderful time. It was the best circus I have seen here in Colombia, which I have been to a few. The clowns were great and funny. All the children was laughing. There was a mago which wasnt that bad, I have never seen with my own eyes the trick of the woman being cut in half. They did a lot of dances on the ice and all the acts. Then when the juggler came out, I was like really, you can see this every day at the red light..This guy blew my mind away, He was GREAT.. He was the finale and I can see why. When he came out to take a bow the crowd went wild for him.

We paid 20,000 each for our seats, in the pic the people in the back of the photo paid 30,000 and it seemed we had the same seats and view. The people up front paid 40,000. Yeah they had the best view and they got wet...lol

A Heart Of Gold

I want to tell a story about my baby boy. I always tell my son to respect people no matter what. If they are poor or rich. My son thinks everybody in the world is his friend. He wants to play with everybody. We moved to Colombia about 3 years ago. Now coming from Nashville to a city with 2 million people. It was a change. We see a lot of homeless people. It´s hard to turn you back on people who are asking for money. My mother always told me.."Never turn your back on someone because that could be Jesus". I really feel like my son has a "heart of gold". My son goes to Catholic School. He looks so cute in his uniform. I walk him to school because his school is down the block. I always pack him a snack for school. This one special day we was walking to school. Sitting on the sidewalk was a woman with her baby asking for money. My son walked passed and reached into his lunch box to get his chips out for this woman. I told him no because that was for him. He started to cry. So we walked on and he had his tears dried up before he got into the school. At that time my son´s teacher walked up. I told her my son was upset. His teacher walked by this woman and didn´t see her. So I went home and walked by her again. I wanted to cry. When I got home I got some money and went back out. I got some bread and some juice. I took it back to the woman. I told her it was from my son. She cried and told me GOD BLESS YOU. When I picked up my son. I told him what I had done. A smile came a cross his face and he said "Thank you mami" My son is my heart and always will be. I hope this story touches your heart and makes you think twice before turning someone away...God Bless All Ps Last night my son was talking to his self. His daddy walked in and asked him who he was talking to. He said "Oh I´m talking to God" so sweet...

Karma

Hello, I wanted to share my thoughts on karma, I 100% believe in karma. I feel if you do something good for someone, you will get something in return. My husband and I had been trying for 3 years to have a baby. We got lucky once but it turned out not good. It didn´t get us down and we kept on trying. This is where karma came in. I was out one day going to the local bakery. There was a special boy asking for food, now he didn't ask for money just food. I got him some bread and yogurt. He told me thank you and tried to give me some coins, which I told him no. He said "Gracias Mona". Then once I was in the grocery store. I was walking towards the cash register. I saw a woman looking at me hard standing in front of the raid self. This woman was asking if she had enough money to buy a can of raid because she couldn´t read the numbers. I took her to the register and pitched in 400 pesos because she was a little short. One day I was walking from the school house. I was walking behind an elder man. He slipped and I threw my arms out to catch him. I caught him before he hit the ground. He looked at me like I was crazy but he said thank you and kissed me on the cheek. I think he was shocked that I caught him. After doing 3 good deeds I found out I was pregnant and now we have a beautiful little Colombiana.

Coming to Colombia

Coming to Colombia from the States is not that easy as it sounds. You are leaving your home and your culture. Leaving your language and your family. My family back home was not the perfect but they was my family. I was never in a city or town that I didn't have at less one family member. Back home I was a free to do what I wanted and was able to jump in the car and go. I love my little home town, its nice, quite, clean, and everyone knows you. I met my Colombian husband working at Chaparral boats. We worked together for a few months before dating, not long after that we was married. After about a year of being married we came to Colombia... Coming to Colombia was the first time that I have been out of the country or away from my family. It was like being thrown into ice water. First we had a direct flight into Cali but the lights was out at the airport so we had to land in Bogotá. I was sitting around people who was speaking nothing but Spanish. I was scared a little and didn't understand one word. My husband and his nephew ran off speaking to each other in Spanish. I sitting there with my arms up in the middle of Bogotá airport yelling "Where are y´all going". Of course they didn't hear me. Out of the blue I heard a voice "They are going to call his family in Cali". The Colombian sitting next to me spoke English and translated for me. He said "Don´t worry you are ok and they are just around the corner", What is this, a nice person that didn't even know me and help me out with a few kind words. After about an hour we was able to fly into Cali. There waiting was 5 members of my husband´s family which I knew 3 of them and they was screaming "Welcome to Colombia". We got into the little mini bus and headed towards Cali. When we got to Cali, I was shocked at the streets being filled with people and so much traffic. The way the driver of the mini bus was driving I didn't think we would make it. We got to my husband´s house that he grew up in and all his family was waiting with open arms. All the neighbors and friends of my husband was waiting too. I have never had a welcome party before. There was food and music. Finally after about 2 hours of visiting with my family and it being late, we went to sleep. We woke up around 7 o´clock and went out on the patio and I have never seen mountains before. It was such a beautiful site. My husband pointed out the 3 crosses and the Cristo Rey. I thought to my self this doesn't look like a bad place. We had a wonderful breakfast of chocolate and buñuelos. In the next few days I got to know his family and look at old family pictures. It was wonderful to see my husband as a child growing up in Colombia. At first I couldn't understand the culture. I mean I have never seen people act this way. One, saying a greeting every time you see a person even if you have done said hello to them once. My poor husband´s niece that I didn't like her because I didn't say hello every time. Two, eating I have never seen people be so free at the dinner table and reach out for things. Three, being loud, I mean people are loud from 6 o´clock in the morning till late into the night. Playing music till 4 o´clock and blowing horns at a person if they stay at the red light more than a second. It was so hard to sleep for a long time here. Four, everyone in Colombia talks with their hands. I´m a person that looks at someones mouth when they speak not at their hands. Now my life has changed so much over the last 5 years. I now can say I´m a part of the Colombian culture. I found my self talking to everyone every time I see them if I have seen them already. I found my self loud and always screaming from one room to the next, then eating like there is no tomorrow. It was so hard to get used to the Colombian food but now its something I look forward to. I love Colombia and I´m thankful for Colombia. Colombia made it possible for my husband and me to have a little girl, so now coming Colombia as a family of 3, we are now a family of 4....
